Tantra, an ancient tradition
Tantric massage has its roots in Tantra, a set of spiritual practices that originated in India over a thousand years ago. Far from the clichés, tantra is, above all, a philosophy of mindfulness: it invites you to be fully present in your body, to slow down, and to regard every sensation as a gateway to overall well-being.
A massage that cares for the whole person
Whereas a traditional massage focuses mainly on muscles and tension, tantric massage addresses the body as a whole — breath, skin, energy and emotions. The practitioner works slowly and with intention, often synchronising their movements with the recipient’s breathing. The aim is not performance, but deep relaxation and reconnection with oneself.
How does a session unfold?
A session always begins with a time for welcome and listening: we establish the framework, expectations and, above all, boundaries. This is followed by breathing exercises to establish a sense of calm, then the massage itself — enveloping, long and fluid movements. It ends with a moment of rest and integration. Every practitioner has their own style, but respect for the recipient’s pace and consent is the guiding principle.
What tantric massage is not
It is neither a medical treatment nor a sexual service. It is an experience of relaxation and body awareness. On Evadya, practitioners who offer a strictly non-sexual approach state this clearly.
